Rebecca Fowler
Physiotherapist
specializing in the treatment of chronic pain

What to expect;

Chronic pain is pain that has persisted beyond 3 months or past expected body healing time. It can be experienced anywhere in the body and may be preceded by a specific injury or following treatment of a condition, although there may also be situations where an underlying cause is not identified.

Current research shows that chronic pain results from changes occurring in the nervous system, including the brain, influencing the duration and intensity of pain. Pain is produced to protect us, however in the case of chronic pain the mechanisms have become over protective. Alongside ongoing pain, someone may also develop muscle tension, altered range of movement and reduced ability to engage in activity.

As a registered physiotherapist with the College of Physical Therapists of BC I will work with you to identify how to best treat the ongoing pain you experience. I use evidence based approaches to re-educate your nervous system and restore physical function. Together we will create a treatment plan to bring about relief and increased movement, empowering you to take back control of the pain and reclaim your life.

ICBC direct billing now available.
